Strain gauge / List of 7 manufacturers
What is a Strain gauge?
Strain gauges are sensors that measure the deformation and strain of objects. It is generally used to detect very small deformations. A strain gauge consists of a device containing a thin strain gauge, such as a metal foil or semiconductor. When an object deforms, the stress and strain applied to its surface changes. Strain gauges detect this change and convert it into an electrical signal. Strain gauges are usually glued to the surface of an object and sense minute changes that occur due to deformation.
Application of Strain gauge
Strain gauges are used in a variety of engineering and scientific applications such as stress analysis and quality control of structures, and materials testing. For example, it is used to monitor stresses and strains in building structures and aircraft parts.
