What is a Haze meter?
A haze meter is a device used to measure "haze" (cloudiness) in transparent or semi-transparent materials. Haze indicates the degree of light scattering that occurs as light passes through a material, affecting its visual transparency. Light scattering can result from minor surface defects or internal non-uniformities, reducing visibility. A haze meter works by measuring the scattered light and transmitted light after passing through a sample and calculates the haze percentage (%) as a numerical value. It is widely used in quality control and transparency evaluation for products such as plastic films, glass, lenses, and display panels.
Application of Haze meter
✅Quality Control of Plastic Films
Used to evaluate the transparency of food packaging or industrial films to ensure compliance with product standards.
✅Transparency Evaluation of Glass Products
Measures the optical performance of architectural glass or vehicle windows to ensure clear visibility.
✅Inspection of Optical Lenses
Measures the haze of lenses used in cameras and microscopes to confirm high optical performance.
✅Evaluation of Display Panels
Used to measure light scattering in smartphone and television screens to verify that high-quality visual displays are maintained.
