What is a Integrating flow meter?
A wide variety of fluids are used at the production site of factories, such as various liquids such as cooling water and cutting oil, and various gases such as argon and nitrogen used during heat treatment. A flow rate, which is a physical quantity of a fluid, is defined as the volume or mass of the fluid flowing at a given time. The flow rate is measured by a device called a flow meter. There are two types of fluid flow rate, "instantaneous flow rate" and "integrated flow rate". The former refers to the amount that flows per fixed time, and the latter refers to the cumulative value of the amount that flows from the start of measurement. An integrated flow meter is a type of flow meter that measures the flow rate of a fluid during a certain period of time or when the fluid reaches a certain capacity.
Application of Integrating flow meter
At the manufacturing site, it is very important to control the flow rate of various fluids, such as flowing cooling water to prevent temperature rise during machine operation and flowing hydraulic oil to control hydraulic pressure. It is also important to monitor the flow rate of various other gases, for example, to control the flow rate of the inert gas used to prevent oxidation during welding. The integrated flow meter is a device that can monitor changes in flow rate over time. By controlling the flow rate using an integrated flow meter, it leads to reduction of manufacturing cost, improvement and stabilization of quality, protection of equipment, and prevention of accidents such as fire. In addition, integrated flow meters are also used in water meters and gasoline meters in familiar places.
