What is a Surface tension meter?
A tensiometer is a device for measuring the tension generated on the surface of a liquid. Surface tension is a physical phenomenon that requires attention because it has a great effect when it comes into contact with air in a static state. Many methods for measuring surface tension have been developed: a suspension method that calculates from droplets, a plate method that measures the force that the surface pulls on a plate, and a ring that measures the force that pulls the ring by contacting the ring with the liquid surface. There are methods such as the capillary method, which measures the height of the liquid that rises in the capillary.
Application of Surface tension meter
Tensiometers are used in quality control and research and development of detergents, foods, solders, etc. It is not a production process, but a place used by experimental sites. By measuring the surface tension and controlling it appropriately, it is effective in suppressing the generation of bubbles during the manufacturing process and use, and adjusting the ease of stirring. When selecting a tensiometer, it is necessary to consider the accuracy of evaluation, measurement time, compatible liquid type, measurement range, and so on.
