What is a Circuit breaker?

A circuit breaker is an electrical device that can break a circuit through which a fault current flows. Circuit breakers for low-voltage voltage include circuit breakers for wiring that detect overcurrent and ground fault circuit breakers that detect earth leakage. High-voltage circuit breakers do not have a fault current detection function, so they are used together with protective relays.
