What is a MOSFET?
A MOSFET is a type of transistor and one of the essential semiconductor devices for electronic equipment. MOS is an abbreviation for "Metal Oxide Semiconductor", which means metal oxide film in Japanese. FET is an abbreviation for "Field-Effect Transistor" and is called a field effect transistor in Japanese. MOSFETs basically perform on/off switching and signal amplification. The advantage is that the operation speed is very fast and it is suitable for precise control. In the past, semiconductor devices were predominantly high-polar transistors. However, the need for smaller, lighter, and more efficient equipment has increased, and MOSFETs are becoming the mainstream of semiconductor devices in recent years.
