What is a Ethernet switch?

An Ethernet switch is a hardware device that relays computer networks and supports efficient communication. Since Ethernet is the mainstream of computer communication, it is almost synonymous with a switching hub. When communication data is input, the hub retransmits the data to all connected devices. On the other hand, the Ethernet switch reads the destination device address included in the input data and retransmits the communication data only to the destination device. Therefore, it offers high speed and advanced traffic control compared to hubs.
