What is a Differential pressure switch?
A differential pressure switch is a device that detects the pressure difference of a fluid and performs switching operation. They are typically attached to pipes or tubes through which fluid flows and are used to switch on or off when there is a pressure differential. It usually has two input ports, each of which is connected to a fluid. High pressure is input to one port and low pressure is input to the other port. A differential pressure switch is a device that detects this pressure difference between ports. A differential pressure switch is adjusted so that the switch operates when there is a set pressure differential. When the pressure difference exceeds the set value, an internal mechanism operates to change the state of the switch. When the measured pressure difference is small, it is sometimes called a differential pressure switch.
