What is a Magnetic switch?

A magnetic switch is a switch that combines an electromagnetic contactor that switches between opening and closing of the contact with an electromagnet and a thermal relay that cuts off the circuit when overloaded. It is also called "conta (abbreviation of magnetic contactor)" or "magnet". In the circuit that supplies power to the load, it functions as a load protection device in the event of an overload (overcurrent). A similar protective device is a breaker, but while the breaker protects the wires and prevents short-circuit accidents, the magnetic switch prevents overcurrent to the load.
