What is a Line sensor camera?
A line sensor camera (English: line sensor camera) is a camera that captures an object in a line and synthesizes it into a single image. A commonly compared area sensor camera captures the entire field of view at once. On the other hand, a line sensor camera can acquire two-dimensional images by continuously photographing the object while moving it in the direction perpendicular to the line sensor or moving the camera. When capturing a horizontally long image, a line sensor camera can capture even the slightest changes that occur on a pixel-by-pixel basis.
Application of Line sensor camera
Line sensor cameras are used for a wide range of purposes, from inspection of social infrastructure such as roads and exterior walls, to industrial inspection of non-woven fabrics, gears, semiconductor parts, etc., analysis of works of art, and sorting of fruits that used to be visually inspected. Targets for which line sensor cameras are suitable include those that are large in size, those that require high-precision resolution, continuous long objects, and three-dimensional appearances. For example, when photographing a large object, an area sensor can be used to divide and photograph, but multiple images must be stitched together. On the other hand, when using a line sensor, images can be captured as a single image, so there is no need to connect the images.
