What is a Peristaltic pump?

A peristaltic pump, also known as a tube pump, is a type of pump that transports fluids through a flexible tube. Rollers or shoes compress the tube, sequentially squeezing and pushing the fluid through. This motion, similar to peristalsis, gives the pump its name. Since the fluid only contacts the inner surface of the tube, peristaltic pumps are ideal for applications requiring high hygiene, such as in pharmaceuticals, food processing, and medical equipment. They offer accurate flow control and prevent backflow, making them useful for precise dosing and liquid transfer.
