What is a Earth leakage relay?
A ground fault relay is a mechanical device that detects the state of a ground fault in an electrical circuit. Also called Ground Relays. Electrical circuits are generally insulated from their surroundings by insulating resins such as polyethylene and vinyl. When a part of an electric circuit comes into contact with a conductive object due to damage to this insulator, etc., and electricity flows, this is called an earth leakage. Accidentally touching a leaked electric circuit or surrounding metal may cause an electric shock to the human body, resulting in personal injury. If electricity is transmitted through the steel frame of the building, etc., it may cause a fire, so be careful. The above phenomenon can be prevented by using an earth leakage relay to cut off the power or issue an alarm.
