What is a Desiccant / Dehumidifier?

A desiccant is a substance that absorbs moisture and dries objects or the environment. Generally, silica gel and calcium chloride are used. These substances absorb moisture and solidify, resulting in drying of the surrounding air. Desiccants are used to preserve food, medicine, electronic devices, etc., and are also used to remove moisture from clothing, shoes, and the inside of cars.
