What is a Bonded Magnet?
A bonded magnet is a type of magnet made by mixing magnetic powder (such as ferrite or neodymium) with a binder like resin or rubber, and then forming it into shape. Unlike sintered magnets, bonded magnets can be produced using injection or compression molding, allowing for complex and lightweight designs.
These magnets typically exhibit isotropic magnetic properties and are not as strong as sintered magnets, but they offer excellent moldability and are ideal for mass production. They can also be integrally molded with other parts, reducing production costs.
Key Features:
✅ Easy to mold into complex 3D shapes
✅ Lightweight and thin designs possible
✅ Suitable for mass production
✅ Moderate magnetic force
Application of Bonded Magnet
✅ Small motor components (e.g., car fans, printers, HDDs)
✅ Sensor parts (e.g., rotation detection)
✅ Smart appliances and office equipment
✅ Medical and precision device components
