What is a Vacuum valve?
Vacuum valve principle
A vacuum valve is a device for controlling the flow of gas in a vacuum environment. The principle of its operation varies depending on the type of valve, but the basic purpose is to block or allow the flow of gas. Below we explain the typical types of vacuum valves and their operating principles.
1. Gate valve
Working principle: A gate valve controls the flow of gas by moving a disc-shaped gate up and down or left and right within a vacuum chamber.
Opening and closing operation: When the valve is open: gas flows around the gate.
When the valve is closed: the gate is located in the center of the vacuum chamber, blocking the flow of gas.
2. Solenoid valve
Working principle: Solenoid valves use electromagnetic coils to control the opening and closing of the valve.
Opening/Closing Operation: When current flows through the coil: the magnetic force created by the coil moves the valve to the open position. When the current stops, the magnetic force disappears and the valve closes.
Features: Electromagnetic opening and closing allows remote control.
3. Butterfly valve
Working principle: Butterfly valves control gas flow by rotating a circular butterfly disc.
Opening/closing operation: When the disc is located in the center of the vacuum chamber: the valve is open and gas flows.
When the disk is located at the outer periphery of the vacuum chamber: the valve is closed, cutting off the flow of gas.
4. Pinch valve
Working principle: Pinch valves control the flow of gas by pinching a flexible tube.
Opening/closing operation: Pinch the valve: The tube closes and cuts off the gas flow. When you open the valve, the tube opens and gas flows.
Features: Gas flow rate can be adjusted by adjusting the pinching force.
Types of vacuum valves

1. Ball Valve
Structure: Opens and closes by rotating the sphere (ball).
Working principle: The valve closes when the ball rotates and blocks the flow path.
The valve opens when the ball rotates and opens the flow path.
2. Inline Valve
Structure: Valves arranged in a straight path.
Application: Used to consistently control gas flow.
3. Angle Valve
Construction: Valve where the connections form a 90 degree angle.
Application: Suitable for limited space.
4.Poppet Valve
Structure: A cylindrical valve opens and closes against the seat.
Application: Used when high sealing performance is required.
