What is a Split cable gland?

Split cable glands are parts for fixing signal cables and power cables to control panels and devices. Control panels installed in factories and buildings are usually housed in metal boxes that are attached to the walls. The metal box has a hole at the top or bottom through which power and signal cables are drawn from the outside. If you just pass the cable through the hole you made to pull the cable in, there will be a gap around it, and there is a danger that dust, water droplets, oil, etc. will enter through that gap. Also, the cable may rub against the metal around the hole and become damaged or pulled out. Cable glands eliminate gaps around the cable to prevent dust, water droplets, oil, etc. from entering through the through hole, and also secure the cable to prevent it from falling off or being damaged due to vibration.
