What is a Constant temperature bath?
A constant temperature bath generally has a structure for maintaining temperature. It consists of a container, a heating or cooling device, a temperature sensor, and a temperature control device. To control humidity, a humidifier or dehumidifier or a fan or stirrer is used to even out the temperature inside the container. The temperature changes by heating, cooling, or adjusting humidity, and a temperature sensor maintains the target temperature.
Although the main purpose is to maintain a constant temperature, it is also possible to vary the temperature periodically or set a specific program depending on the specific application. Program settings depend on the programming device of the thermostatic chamber. If the device has a built-in communication interface, remote control is also possible. The way data is recorded also differs, with some products recording to internal memory and others storing to external equipment. These specifications should be selected depending on the intended use.
Application of Constant temperature bath
A constant temperature bath is a device commonly used in laboratories, and often includes a water or oil bath, and a constant temperature dryer. Water or oil constant temperature baths are used in chemical and biological experiments to keep samples at a constant temperature while stirring them in flasks. It is relatively simple to use, just pour water or oil into the device and set the temperature. If you use an aquarium for a long time, the water will evaporate and will need to be refilled. Oil tanks are generally used at high temperatures, so care must be taken.
Constant temperature dryers and high humidity tanks are used for drying semiconductors, cultivating microorganisms, drying instruments, etc. It is easy to use, just put the sample inside, set the temperature and holding time, and perform drying and observation. Some instruments also have cooling capabilities, making them suitable for low-temperature experiments. However, as it may use Freon as a refrigerant, expert guidance is required.
In recent years, thermostats using Peltier elements have also appeared. It controls cooling and heating by changing the direction of electric current, making it energy-saving, compact, and capable of accurate temperature control.
