Capacitive proximity sensor / List of 5 manufacturers
What is a Capacitive proximity sensor?
A capacitive proximity sensor detects changes in capacitance caused by the presence of an object. When an object approaches the sensor, an electric field is formed between the sensor's electrodes and the object, causing a change in capacitance. The sensor works without physical contact, making it durable with no wear and tear. It has a long lifespan and is capable of detecting a wide range of materials, including metals, non-metals, and even transparent objects. This makes it widely used in automated production lines and robotic systems.
Application of Capacitive proximity sensor
✅ Part Detection in Production Lines
Capacitive proximity sensors are used to verify the position of parts or detect missing items on production lines. They operate with high accuracy even in high-speed manufacturing processes, without touching the objects.
✅ Obstacle Detection in Robots
In robotic systems, capacitive proximity sensors are used to detect the position of obstacles or objects. This allows robots to adjust their movements to avoid contact with surrounding objects during their operations.
✅ Touch Panel Sensing
Capacitive proximity sensors are used in touch panels or interfaces to detect the points where the user touches the screen. The sensor identifies the location and responds accordingly.
✅ Liquid Level Detection
Capacitive sensors are used to detect the level of liquids. They can accurately measure the amount of liquid in tanks or bottles without physical contact.
