What is a Backplane?
A backplane (English: backplane) is a wiring board for connecting boards and cards in electronic equipment such as computers and communication equipment. It is typically mounted on the back of the device and carries power and signals to the cards or modules that are plugged into it. In addition, the backplane consists of a bracket for fixing the board, a socket for supplying power, a connector for transmitting signals, and so on.
