What is a Hydraulic press?
A hydraulic press is a device that uses hydraulic pressure as a power source to apply pressure to a thin sheet metal and process it into the shape of a die. The hydraulic motor sends oil to the hydraulic cylinder, and the piston in the hydraulic cylinder presses the mold by sliding it up and down. The characteristics of hydraulic presses are the speed of the slide, the pressure during operation, and the long stroke. On the other hand, there is a risk of a fall accident due to oil leakage, so it is necessary to take that risk into consideration when using it.
Application of Hydraulic press
There are two types of press machines, such as mechanical type and servo motor type, depending on the operating method. Although hydraulic presses have a relatively slow production speed, they can handle a wide range of materials and can precisely control press speed, acceleration, force, stroke length, etc. In addition, a large compression capacity can be obtained on a relatively small scale. Due to these characteristics, it is suitable for small-scale production and drawing / bending. Hydraulic presses are mainly used in the processing of sheet metal materials for automobiles, home appliances and electrical equipment. The types of presses include cutting presses, deep drawing presses, injection presses, molding presses, punching presses, and forging presses. When making a selection, it is necessary to consider the pressure of the press, the length of the stroke, the size corresponding to the press, and the safety aspect.
