What is a Fiber laser?

A fiber laser is a laser whose laser medium is an optical fiber doped with rare earth elements. The oscillation wavelength is the basic wavelength of 1030 to 1070 nm. Oscillation types include continuous oscillation (English: CW, Continuous Waves) and pulse oscillation. Continuous oscillation is used for welding and cutting because of its high output, and pulse oscillation is used for marking and micromachining because of its low output.

Application of Fiber laser

Fiber lasers are used for welding, cutting, marking, welding, etc. Especially with CO2 laser, it is possible to process aluminum, copper, brass, etc., which have strong reflection and are difficult to process. Fiber lasers have high beam quality and are easy to focus on by the lens. Since it can have a small spot diameter, it can be finely processed. The pulsed fiber laser is also suitable for marking in addition to the above features. Since it is compatible with various materials such as metal, plastic, and resin, it may be used for printing on parts and barcodes. There are various marking methods such as deep digging, black marking, white marking, and surface layer peeling.
