What is a Band saw?

A band saw is a machine that rotates a band-shaped blade to cut plate-shaped or cylindrical members. Sometimes called a band saw. The blade of the band saw is band-shaped and loops, and rotates at high speed inside. When cutting, you can easily cut by moving the blade or member while touching the partially exposed blade to the member. In contrast to the jigsaw that reciprocates a linear blade, the band saw has high chip evacuation performance and is suitable for cutting thick members or cutting at high speed.

Application of Band saw

Band saws are commonly used for cutting plates such as wood and plastic, bars, and pipes. Depending on the model, it may be possible to cut metal parts and food. When cutting a plate material, use a vertical band saw and move the plate material side to cut. When cutting rods and pipes, a horizontal band saw is often used, and cutting is performed by pressing a horizontally arranged blade against a fixed member. A rechargeable portable band saw is used when power cannot be secured at the work place or when a member is to be fixed and cut.
