What is a Rolling mill?
Rolling mills are used in steel factories and are equipment for rolling iron. Here, rolling iron is called rolling. In addition, the number of rolling mills is determined by the final thickness of iron produced at that factory. The rolling mill stretches iron by crushing it between rolls driven by a motor, and rolls while controlling the thickness (width), which differs for each product, to the target value. When rolling, it is necessary to stretch the iron heated in the furnace before the temperature is lowered (because the iron will not stretch when the temperature drops).
Application of Rolling mill
As mentioned in the overview, rolling mills are used to stretch iron. Although it depends on the factory, the main flow of rolling mills is that there are about 1 to 5 rough rolling mills that roughly roll the thick iron that comes out of the furnace, and then to the actual product thickness. There are about 5 to 8 finishing mills to finish. Rollers can be roughly divided into rough rolling mills and finishing rolling mills. Some rough rolling mills have a function called reverse rolling, in which the iron once rolled is returned to the front of the rolling mill and then rolled again in the same rolling mill. This method allows thick iron to be rolled to a certain degree of thinness.
