What is a Punch die?
Punch dies mean punches and dies in press dies. The punch and die are basically one set and are used in pairs. There are various types of punches, such as engraved punches, punching punches, bending punches, and drawing punches, and various punches are precisely processed and used according to the processing shape. The die is produced with the precise punch and set. Each punch and die cannot be processed individually. The die acts as a saucer that matches the shape of the punch. If it is a punch and die, it is shaped like a sharp blade with sharp corners. The shape of the die that is the pair of the drawing punch and the bending punch is processed with the image of smooth metal slipping. A large load is applied when the metal slides in while applying pressure, but it is common to devise ways to extend the life of the metal by mirror-finishing (wrapping) and surface-treating the surface.
Application of Punch die
There are different types of press dies, such as single-shot dies and progressive dies. The single-shot die is a press die that performs relatively simple processing, and in many cases the material is sent by hand and processed. On the other hand, the progressive die is one in which multiple processes performed by the single-shot die are provided in one die. It automatically feeds materials and enables mass production of complex and precise parts. In such a progressive mold, several sets of punch dies are built in, such as drilling, engraving, punching, drawing, and shearing.
