What is a Pot mill?
A pot mill is a device used for crushing and mixing samples. A cylindrical pot made of ceramic rotates and a ball crushes the sample inside to obtain a finer and more uniform powder. The pots and balls are made of hard materials and will be very unlikely to wear or chip during grinding. In addition, it has high chemical resistance and reduces the risk of equipment corrosion due to the components contained in the crushed sample. This prevents instrument debris and eluents from contaminating the sample.
Application of Pot mill
Pot mills are suitable for grinding samples and mixing them evenly. Most of the pots and balls that the sample touches are made of ceramic with high wear resistance and chemical resistance. This prevents contamination from pots and balls and allows the sample to be crushed in a cleaner condition. It is also used industrially for efficient fine crushing, and is used for mixing ceramic glazes and completely destroying USB and floppy disks to prevent data leakage.
