What is a Melting furnace?

A melting furnace is a furnace that melts metals. There are various types of melting furnaces. For ordinary cast iron, a cupola is used, for cast steel and special cast iron, an electric furnace is used, and for copper alloys and aluminum alloys, a pot furnace is used. A melting furnace in which raw materials are charged from the side of the furnace is called a side charge type, and a melting furnace in which raw materials are charged from the roof is called a top charge type. In addition, there are a stationary type in which the furnace does not move and a tilting type in which the furnace can be tilted, and maintenance and operability are different for each.
