What is a Granulator?
A granulator is a device that compacts fine particles into spheres or granules of any size. Granulation is often more advantageous for commercialization than the powder itself, which is the raw material. Therefore, it is widely used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and food products. Depending on the type, nature, size, etc. of the raw material, there are methods such as rotor type, kneading type, stirring type, and extrusion type. Basically, a binder such as a dispersion is required for granulation.
Application of Granulator
Granulators are widely used in pharmaceuticals, coloring materials and other industrial applications because they can form fine particles into spheres or granules. It can be molded into powder of uniform size. For example, in the pharmaceutical field, it is used to manufacture tablet-making granules from raw materials. Also, in the case of colored materials, it is easier to handle after granulation, rather than selling the powder as it is when selling it as a product. In addition, granulators are used to manufacture desiccants to prevent aggregation and prevent moisture.
