What is a Sequencer?
A sequencer is also called a PLC (programmable logic controller). In the first place, the name sequencer is a registered product of Mitsubishi Electric's PLC. A sequencer is a device that controls the operation of machines and equipment according to the conditions and order defined by the program. It is also possible to control the continuous amount, speed, position, etc., and to transmit information between devices. The sequencer mainly consists of an input unit, an output unit, a memory, a calculation unit (CPU), and a power supply. Furthermore, connect sensors and motors to the input and output sections.
Application of Sequencer
There are relay circuits and relay controls that are compared with sequencers, but the control methods are the same for both, and the greater the amount of control, the more the merit of using a sequencer that does not require wiring appears. Sequencers are often used because of the time and cost involved. Sequencers are used for various purposes. For example, there are a wide range of home appliances such as washing machines and air conditioners, automated machines such as elevators and automatic doors, and vending machines, and industrial machines such as boilers and pumps. Until now, sequencers have been used only for simple machine control such as start and stop, but in recent years they have also been used for large-scale control equipment such as automatic data acquisition and complicated signal processing.
