What is a Clock buffer?
A clock buffer is an IC used in a printed circuit board system to minimize the delay difference between clocks reaching multiple logic circuits and to match (synchronize) the timing. When operating multiple logic circuits, it is necessary to synchronize the circuits. At this time, we need a signal to govern the whole system, and for that purpose, a periodic signal of a certain frequency is the clock (like a metronome in music). A group of circuits that operate in conjunction with a clock is called a synchronous circuit. Clocks branch in the system and propagate to many logic circuits. However, if these clocks are not synchronized, a malfunction of the logic circuit can cause the entire system to not operate as desired, so a clock buffer is required.
