Potentiometer / List of 4 manufacturers
What is a Potentiometer?
A potentiometer is an electronic component used to measure or adjust electric potential (voltage). Commonly known as a "variable resistor," it controls the output voltage by varying its resistance. Inside the potentiometer, a slider moves across a resistive element, changing the voltage division ratio and thus adjusting the output. It is widely used in electrical circuit tuning, volume and brightness control, sensor devices, and machine control. Potentiometers come in various types, such as rotary and slide, and are used in applications ranging from precision measurements to everyday household electronics.
Application of Potentiometer
✅Volume Control
Used as a knob to adjust audio volume in radios and speakers by regulating voltage output.
✅Brightness Adjustment for Lighting
In lighting fixtures, rotary potentiometers are used to smoothly adjust the brightness of the light.
✅Testing and Tuning Electrical Circuits
Used to vary resistance or divide voltage in electrical circuits for testing or voltage tuning purposes.
✅Position Sensors in Robots and Machines
Converts slider movement into voltage changes, serving as a position detection sensor in robotics and machinery.
