What is a Disconnector?
A disconnector is a device for opening and closing a circuit in which no load current is flowing. Also known as a discon, it allows the load circuit to be disconnected from the power supply. However, the disconnector cannot be opened in a circuit with load current. If the load current is opened with a disconnector, there is a high possibility of an explosion accident or fire due to arc discharge. Therefore, it is used together with a circuit breaker that can interrupt the load current.
