Slurry pump / List of 10 manufacturers
What is a Slurry pump?
A slurry pump is a specialized pump designed to transport liquids containing solid particles (slurry). It is commonly used in industries such as mining, cement, chemical processing, paper manufacturing, steel production, and power plants. Since slurry often contains abrasive and viscous materials, slurry pumps must be highly resistant to wear and corrosion. Slurry pumps are broadly classified into centrifugal and positive displacement types. Centrifugal slurry pumps use an impeller to move the slurry, providing high flow rates and efficiency. In contrast, positive displacement slurry pumps use pistons or diaphragms to push the slurry, making them suitable for highly viscous or high-concentration slurries.
Additionally, slurry pumps are equipped with rubber or metal liners, which are selected based on the type of slurry being transported.
Application of Slurry pump
✅Ore Mining:
Used to transport slurry containing mined ores.
✅Ash Transport in Power Plants:
Moves ash slurry generated from coal combustion.
✅Mud Removal in Civil Engineering:
Removes muddy water from tunneling or excavation sites.
✅Pulp Transport in Paper Mills:
Moves wood pulp in slurry form within the papermaking process.
✅Wastewater Treatment Facilities:
Transfers sludge-like wastewater containing waste particles.
Different types of slurry pumps, such as centrifugal and plunger pumps, are selected based on the type and particle size of the slurry being transported.
