Stroboscope / List of 3 manufacturers
What is a Stroboscope?
A stroboscope is an observation / measurement instrument that emits light that flashes at high speed. By repeating turning on and off instantly, it is possible to analyze the trajectory and momentum drawn by the irradiated object. It can be roughly divided into two types: "things that operate by setting the number of blinks per unit time" and "things that operate variably by an external signal". The former is mainly used as "a measure of the state of exercise" and the latter is used as a "measurement of timing". Various products are sold by various companies, from portable sizes for personal use to relatively large ones for industrial use.
Application of Stroboscope
Stroboscopes are mainly used for calibration work of products such as tape recorders and record players whose rotation speed is directly related to performance, and for adjusting the ignition timing of engines. In the case of calibration work, if you mark a disk that rotates at a standard rotation speed of 100 RPM, set the stroboscope to blink 100 times per minute, and irradiate it, the disk and marking part will appear to be stopped. Therefore, if the number of revolutions is slower than the specified number of revolutions, the object irradiated with the stroboscope appears to rotate in the reverse direction at 1 RPM, and it can be determined that calibration is necessary. Also, when used to adjust the ignition timing of the engine, by interrupting the signal line in the ignition circuit of the 1st cylinder, the strobe is irradiated at the timing when the 1st cylinder is ignited by the spark plug. Therefore, it is possible to grasp the ignition timing by reading the point where the scale of the crank pulley and the mark of the cylinder block match. In either case, "whether or not adjustment is necessary" and "result of adjustment" are visually displayed in real time, enabling efficient work.
