What is a 3D measuring machine CMM?

A Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is a device used to measure the geometry and dimensions of objects with high precision. It is widely utilized in quality control, design verification, and manufacturing process validation for mechanical parts and molds. Using a probe, it measures dimensions in three directions (X, Y, and Z axes) and records the data digitally.
