What is a Titrator?
The titration device is a device that can automatically perform various titrations. Titration is an analytical method that quantifies the target substance in a sample. The concentration of the measurement sample can be obtained by slowly adding a standard solution of known concentration to the measurement sample of unknown concentration and measuring the required volume until the end of the reaction. There are several types of titration, such as neutralization titration, redox titration, and precipitation titration. In normal titration, it is done manually using a special instrument such as a burette, but in the titration device, it is possible to automatically drop the solution, determine the end point, and calculate the concentration.
Titration is an analytical method for quantifying specific substances in a sample. The concentration of the target substance can be determined by dropping a solution of known concentration, called a standard solution, into the solution to be measured and adding the appropriate amount. Laboratory equipment such as conical beakers, burettes, and whole pipettes are used for this operation. Generally, an indicator is used to determine the end point. The indicator allows you to visually confirm the end point by changing color, etc.
The titrator consists of an operation panel, burette, stirrer, electrode, detector, etc. It uses a buret containing reagents and is used in conjunction with a beaker containing the sample placed on a stirrer. Many instruments are compatible with electrotitration, which measures the change in charge caused by a reaction to determine the end point.
Application of Titrator
The titration device can automatically and accurately perform a series of titration operations that are normally performed manually.
Titration operations are performed in fields such as product quality control, analysis, and inspection for the purpose of measuring the concentration of the target substance. Since it can accurately quantify specific components, it is used in compound purity analysis, water hardness measurement, food acidity analysis, and so on.
Titration equipment saves manpower and enables accurate measurement, so it is being introduced in research facilities and companies.
