What is a Theodolite?

"Theodolite is a surveying instrument that accurately measures horizontal and altitude angles. By rotating the telescope attached to the precision rotation stage and the precision vertical swing stage independently in the horizontal and vertical directions, it is possible to accurately measure between the measurement points set in the distance and determine the angle. It is an indispensable instrument for surveying in the civil engineering and construction fields, and is always used in combination with a tripod. Currently, three types of theodolite are mainly used: optical theodolite, digital theodolite, and laser theodolite.

Application of Theodolite

Total stations are used in the fields of surveying, construction and civil engineering, such as observation, pile driving, opposite side measurement, reference point survey, applied survey, coordinate survey, groundbreaking survey, fixed point survey, displacement measurement, etc. It is used in a wide range of applications for measurements such as position management.
