What is a Laser diode?

A laser diode (British: laser diode) is light that uses the recombination emission of semiconductors. Recombination luminescence is the phenomenon in which a hole from which an electron has escaped (hole) and an electron meet at a junction, and the extra energy they possessed becomes light and emits light. The light from a laser diode is laser light with a single wavelength and a uniform phase. The color of the semiconductor laser light is determined by the constituent elements of the semiconductor.
