Rectifier / List of 12 manufacturers
What is a Rectifier?
A rectifier is an electronic device that converts alternating current (AC) into direct current (DC), which is widely used in power supply systems and electronic devices. Since AC reverses direction periodically, it is not suitable for many electronic devices in its original form. A rectifier converts this alternating current into a unidirectional flow of current, providing DC. Rectifiers typically use diodes to perform the rectification. Diodes have the property of allowing current to flow in only one direction, so when AC is applied, the diode aligns the current direction to produce DC. There are two types of rectifiers: half-wave and full-wave. Full-wave rectifiers use both halves of the AC cycle to more efficiently produce DC. Rectifiers are essential components in power conversion, battery charging, and power supply applications.
Application of Rectifier
✅Power Supply Units:
Rectifiers are used to supply stable DC power to electronic devices, particularly when there is a need to convert AC to DC.
✅Battery Chargers:
Rectifiers are used in battery chargers to convert AC power from the mains into the DC needed to charge batteries.
✅Audio Equipment:
In audio amplifiers and other equipment, rectifiers convert AC to DC to provide smooth and stable audio signals.
✅Power Conversion Systems:
Rectifiers are used to convert AC power generated by systems like solar panels or wind turbines into DC for use or storage.
