Fast recovery diode / List of 5 manufacturers
What is a Fast recovery diode?
A fast recovery diode is a PN junction diode that can operate at high speed. Also called a fast diode, sometimes abbreviated to FRD. Although the structure and function are the same as general rectifier diodes, rectifier diodes are suitable for low-frequency rectification of 500Hz or less, while fast recovery diodes are suitable for high-frequency rectification of several kHz to 100kHz. Fast recovery diodes are designed to reduce the reverse recovery time trr from the on state to the complete off state. Rectifier diodes have trr of about 5 to 10 us, while fast recovery diodes have trr of about 50 to 100 ns.
