What is a Crack scale?
As the name implies, the crack scale is a ruler that measures cracks in RC buildings, concrete walls, eaves, and so on. The standard for repairs and repairs for seismic retrofitting of structures is that the dissociation width is 0.5 cm or more, but if cracks run large, the need for repairs will be examined using this crack scale. In addition, by combining with a pen-type scale, ultrasonic diagnostic measuring instrument, CT scan, etc., the degree of aging can be verified, and more detailed measurement diagnosis becomes possible.
Application of Crack scale
In use cases, it is used to measure shrinkage cracks caused by shrinkage of mortar such as plaster walls, hair cracks caused by deterioration of coating films, and structural cracks caused by uneven settlement of structures. In RC structures such as huge water storage tanks, the pH of concrete goes out of order and becomes neutral due to the gradient of water and ions. Aged deterioration of concrete is unavoidable, but we carry out regular inspections using such crack scales, keeping in mind that there is a risk of collapse or collapse.
