What is a Light cutting sensor?
A light cut-off sensor is a sensor that uses light to detect the passage or interruption of objects. It is commonly used in industrial machinery and automation systems, where the sensor detects an object by blocking a light beam. The sensor consists of a light source and a receiver (sensor) arranged in a straight line. When an object obstructs the light beam, the sensor outputs a signal to detect the object's position. Since light cut-off sensors detect objects without physical contact, they experience less wear and have a longer lifespan, offering stable performance. Additionally, they can respond quickly, making them ideal for high-speed applications like production lines. There are several types of light cut-off sensors, including reflective, through-beam, and triangulation types.
Application of Light cutting sensor
✅Object Detection on Production Lines
In a manufacturing line, a light cut-off sensor is used to detect the passage of components. This ensures precise tracking of components as they reach their designated positions.
✅Automatic Door Opening
Light cut-off sensors are used in automatic doors to detect the presence of people or objects approaching the door, triggering the system to open the door automatically.
✅Pallet Position Verification
In logistics warehouses, light cut-off sensors are used to confirm the positioning of pallets, ensuring efficient inventory management and tracking.
✅Defect Detection in Inspection Equipment
Light cut-off sensors are installed in inspection systems to detect defects on product surfaces. If a defect is present, the sensor detects the interruption of the light beam and identifies the defective area.
