What is a Contactor?

A contactor is a type of electrical switch used to control high current circuits by turning them on and off. It is commonly used as a relay to control power. When current flows, the coil of the contactor is energized, causing the contacts to close and allow current to pass through. When the current is stopped, the contacts open, cutting off the power supply to the load devices.
