What is a Lactic acid (C₃H₆O₃)?

Lactic acid (C₃H₆O₃) is an organic compound classified as an α-hydroxy acid (AHA). It is produced naturally in the human body during muscle exertion and is also formed during fermentation. Lactic acid is widely used in food, medicine, and cosmetics.
