What is a Carbonated water?

Carbonated water, also known as sparkling water or soda water, is a beverage made by dissolving carbon dioxide (CO₂) into water under pressure. The result is a fizzy drink with a refreshing sensation, slightly acidic due to the formation of carbonic acid (H₂CO₃) when CO₂ reacts with water. Pure carbonated water is tasteless and odorless, and is widely used as a mixer for alcoholic beverages, consumed on its own, or used in cooking and desserts. There are two main types: naturally carbonated water, which originates from mineral springs and often contains minerals, and artificially carbonated water, which is made by injecting CO₂ into purified water. Naturally carbonated water is popular among health-conscious consumers, while artificial types offer a neutral taste and consistent quality. Carbonated water is believed to aid digestion, stimulate appetite, and relieve fatigue. Recently, sugar-free and flavor-free sparkling waters have become increasingly popular due to rising health awareness, expanding the market significantly.
