What is a Tip dresser?

A tip dresser is a device that restores weldability by cutting the electrode part of spot welding. Until now, manual filing work has been the mainstream for polishing electrodes. However, there were problems with worker safety, workload and quality. A polishing machine that solves these problems is a chip dresser. A chip dresser is useful because it is difficult to reproduce a precise chip shape with a general polishing machine. It is necessary to select the type of tip dresser according to the type, number, and installation location of the welding electrodes to be polished.

Application of Tip dresser

Tip dressers are applied to spot welding equipment. Spot welding is used in a very wide range of fields. Mainly in a wide range of fields such as "automobile manufacturing," "home appliances," and "housing equipment.". Not only can the weldability be restored, but burrs generated during welding can be removed. There are two types of tip dressers: handy type and stationary type. The handy type is suitable for easy maintenance on site. On the other hand, if the tip is extremely dirty or requires precise polishing, it is preferable to remove the tip and then treat it with a stationary type.
