What is a Ultrasonic processing machine?
An ultrasonic processing machine is a device that uses ultrasonic waves to perform operations such as cutting and polishing. Cutting oil or slurry-like abrasive grains are provided between the tool that vibrates ultrasonically and the workpiece, and the surface of the workpiece is gradually brittlely broken to remove the material. The ultrasonic processing machine consists of an oscillator that vibrates ultrasonically, an oscillator that drives the oscillator, and a blade. Ultrasonic processing is one of the few processing methods that can process a hard and brittle material into a three-dimensional shape while being machined, and it can be processed even if the material is not conductive.
Application of Ultrasonic processing machine
Ultrasonic processing machines are used for hard and brittle materials and materials that are difficult to process by general machining. Specific examples include hard ceramic and metal materials, cutting hard-to-cut carbon fibers, quartz glass processing, and mold polishing. Ultrasonic processing machines are used not only for hard materials but also for cutting cakes and pie dough that easily lose their shape, slicing bread, and cutting pizza, and have been commercialized as ultrasonic food cutters. The frictional resistance between the blade and the food is reduced by the minute ultrasonic vibration, and a clean cut surface can be obtained.
