What is a Data recorder?
A data recorder is a device that records noise, vibration, and other data that changes physical quantities, that is, mainly waveforms. It is used when the waveform cannot be analyzed at the measurement location or when the analysis is repeated many times. The recording media are cassette magnetic tapes, MDs, optical discs, hard disks, memory cards, etc. A normal music tape deck can record frequencies above 20Hz, so a data recorder is required to record waveforms from around 0Hz. Data loggers may also be used as synonyms.
Application of Data recorder
The data recorded in the data recorder covers a wide range of data including noise, vibration, pressure, temperature, acceleration, stress, position information, electromagnetic force, radio waves, voltage, current, and digital data. In the field of noise and vibration, there is a way to bring back the data recorded at the site and perform detailed frequency analysis. In the field of measurement, various physical quantities are converted into electric quantities by sensors and recorded in a data recorder, and the reproduced data is restored to the original physical quantities for analysis. The recorder can record multiple channels of data at the same time. In the field of digital data, we call it a data logger, which checks software and operates digital devices.
